Look mom...no hands!

Today I went to my 2nd swim session.  The 85 degree water felt so good and I took to the water like a champ.  (No doubts there, I am a natural!)

So my foster mom was all teary near the end.  Girls can be so sappy.  Let me know what you think...pretty awesome right???

I can handle anything!

I'm a swimmer!!  Watch out Michael Phelps - you ain't got nothin' on UMR Egbert!!  I swim like a fish, float like the finest ship, glide through the water with ease and precision!  I am a dolphin in a Greyhound body!!  (Okay, that last reference was taking it a bit too far, but you get my point, right?)

Here is a clip from my swim session yesterday.  I think the cute blonde in the wet suit was quite taken with my natural skills and good looks.

Enjoy!

Cheese!!

Hello again,

Well I had my teeth cleaned on Saturday and they are sparkling!!  Foster mom took me to a very nice lady and she cleaned all my teeth without me having to get any of the sleepy stuff.  It's called an anesthesia free dental and at my age I was really glad to get a service like this.  Ms. Kathy at Houndstooth was so good to me.  My foster mom was able to stay right there with me as well and she rubbed my feet and gave me a massage while Ms. Kathy scaled all the yuck-yuck from my teeth.  Now I have a million dollar smile.

Foster mom is still talking about this swimming stuff and I overheard a conversation about going this week so I'll share all the details when that adventure takes place.

In the meantime I continue to enjoy this awesome weather we've been having.  My appetite is good and I'm enjoying time in the yard.  You know I like to make sure everything is just how it's supposed to be out there so I check everything out.

Thought you might like to see some before and after photos of how my teeth look.

Hey there good looking!

Hi, My name is Egbert but my friends call me "Bert".  I've come back to GEGR through no faulty of my own.  My mom and dad were unable to care for me any longer so they asked GEGR to take me back.  I'm adjusting to life here at my foster home and like basking in sunshine in the yard now that the weather is getting cooler.  Don't let my age fool you.  While I am almost 11 and a little grey, I am as wise as ever.  Like a typical Greyhound, I enjoy eating and napping.  I also enjoy investigating all things in the yard.  This is important work so I usually make the rounds in the morning and evening, mostly after breakfast and dinner.  I like to know who has been in the yard so I sniff the bushes and grass and trees and deck and the fence and the grass and the trees and the deck....oh well, you get the point.  My foster family is taking such good care of me I feel it's my doggie duty to be sure the yard remains patrolled on a regular basis. :-)

I'm going to be having a dental cleaning this week and foster mom keeps telling me something about swimming!  She says that it'll be good for me.  I know nothing of this swimming stuff but if it involves sniffing then I'm all in!!

I'm going to be up for adoption soon so check back.  I am good with other dogs and kitty's. I'm a lover not a fighter.  I'm looking for a permanent home, cushy dog beds and a couple good meals a day.  I travel well in the car, but need a hand getting into vehicles.  I'm good on steps, but a little slow going up and down.  I'm champ of the ramp!  I like some petting and snuggling but I'm not the "in your face" kind of guy.  I can give you your space.  My foster family keeps telling me how sweet I am (I think it sounds kind of girly but it's usually followed by yummy treats and petting so I'm good with it).

If you're available and looking for a good man, then keep watching my blog and fill out an application to meet me!!  www.GEGR.org for more information.
